Welcome to the Earth and Fire travel diary! I am excited to be embarking on an adventure that has taken me from a small town along the Connecticut River Valley to the vast country side of Tuscany to further my passion for creating art from the earth. Clay has been a long time passion of mine and I am thrilled to be on sabbatical from my Essex, Ct. pottery studio to be a student at La Meridiana International School for Ceramics in Certaldo, Italy. For the next five weeks I will be soaking in the knowledge and teachings of three resident master potters and living with students of varying nationalities who all share the love I have for this ancient art. Not to mention soaking in the food, the wine, the culture and everything under the Tuscan sun! I am looking forward to sharing the lessons I learn both in and out of the classroom and all that goes along with stepping out of your comfort zone and stepping into a new chapter of life. Adventure is at the heart of personal growth, and after a year and a half of surviving the covid pandemic, it’s time to move forward! What better way to move past “the pause” than to jump in feet first! So here we go....join me on my adventure!
❤️-Julie
